Is Swoper free to use?
Yes. Creating an account, listing items, making offers and chatting are all free. Free accounts can keep up to 5 active listings and make 20 offers every 6 hours. A verified subscription (R29.99/month) and listing boosts are optional.
How does a swop work?
Find an item you like and offer one of your own items in exchange. If the other person accepts, a chat opens so you can agree on where and when to meet. Once you've swopped, mark it complete in the app and leave each other a review.
Do I pay or get paid on Swoper?
No. Swoper is for swopping items, not selling them, and we don't handle payments between members. Never send money, deposits or banking details to anyone you meet on Swoper. If someone asks, please report them.
What does the verified badge mean?
It means we've privately reviewed that person's identity document and selfie, and they have an active verified subscription. It's a helpful trust signal, but it isn't a guarantee of someone's behaviour or of an item, so always follow our safety tips.
Where is Swoper available?
Swoper is built for people across South Africa. You choose your area when you sign up, and you'll see what swopers are offering near you. You need to be 18 or older to use Swoper.
What can't I list?
Only list things you own and are allowed to swop. Stolen, counterfeit, illegal, dangerous or recalled items, weapons, drugs or medicines, alcohol, tobacco, live animals and adult content aren't allowed. See our terms for the full list.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to My Profile → Account settings → Delete account. You can also request deletion by email. Remember to cancel any subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings.
